SCARS

For ‘Scars’ Kristian takes us on a journey to his native Estonia, exploring its history, crafts and the colours that blossom in the delicate Nordic light. It tells the story of thousand battles the country has seen, still standing strong where its brothers have vanished.

The designer is inspired by the green Baltic Sea crashing onto rocky shores and abandoned military bunkers with exposed guts painted in orange and turquoise. ‘These remains are like

scars’, Kristian explains, ‘and just like the face of a soldier, they tell an inescapable story of bravery and pain.’

The AW11 collection focuses on hand-made knitwear and tailoring, featuring radical colours, shapes and textures. Kristians aim is to explore the true identity of his homeland, blending sharp shapes with traditional patterns and materials.
