After being labeled as ugly and at times antisocial, brutalist architecture is back on the scene and is the main inspiration behind Kristian Steinberg’s AWXIII collection “Brutalism”.
The collection, consisting of sporty, smart-casual and tailored items, which can be mixed and matched, and are aimed at the man about town. This season is characterized by the clash of the hi-tech and the natural: a flameproof coat is trimmed with rabbit lining and handmade pure wool jumpers are worn with sharp 9/10 length nomex trousers. Similar partnerships are forged when it comes to surfaces and color as the multiple shades of grey become the platform for bright orange and green, and the rugged wool meets poly vinyl transparent trims. The look is about the interaction between the tailored and the sporty without ever becoming too casual and with a twist of futuristic playfulness.
